Utah Lake System (ULS) Accounting Model
(2021 - Ongoing)
Precision has partnered with Central Utah Water Conservancy District (CUWCD) to create a RiverWare® accounting model to track water through the Utah Lake System (ULS). Water from several subbasins in the Uinta mountains is collected by the Strawberry Aqueduct Collection System and stored in Strawberry Reservoir. Water is diverted from Strawberry Reservoir through the Continental Divide to the ULS system which spans from Strawberry Reservoir to Utah Lake. It includes a main pipeline and two offshoot pipelines with locations to deliver water to numerous customers along the Wasatch Front. The model will replace a complicated series of spreadsheets as the principal tool for monitoring account storages, administering agreements and operations, and tracking transactions such as deliveries, diversions, evaporations and spills. An interactive, web-based application is being developed with the help of CUWCD to allow staff to enter information into and view results from the model.
